Rajamahendravaram: Pets grooming will reduce stress: Scientist

Rajamahendravaram: Grooming of pets would reduce stress, said Dr Siva Rao, scientist of Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR) while addressing the meeting organised here on Saturday in connection with the Pet Day celebrations at the Shirdi Sai Educational Institutions.

Dr Siva Rao said that spending time with the pets was like doing meditation and it would result in de-stress of our tensions.

He complimented the management of the Shirdi Sai Institutions for organising such programme recognising the importance of pets in our lives. He hoped that other educational institutions would follow suit to conduct such programmes.

Director of Shirdi Sai Institutions T Sri Vidya said that the programme was intended to bring awareness among students on the importance of pet grooming in the present day mechanised lives.

Tambabattula Sridhar, Chairman of the institutions, teachers and parents of students participated in the meeting.

Some of the students presented the pets they have been grooming at the venue including horses, camels, and Punganur cows which are major attractions.
