Rajamahendravaram: TDP state politburo member and rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary alleged that the State government has ignored the welfare of the farming community and neglecting the agriculture sector.

Participating in a rally held at Kadiyam to highlight the plight of farmers, he said the farmers are in pathetic condition and the government hasn't paid compensation to farmers who lost their crops during the incessant rains. He demanded the government to pay the compensation immediately.

The MLA urged the government to purchase faded paddy also on minimum support price to help the farmers in distress He added that the farmers are not having any guarantee until they sell paddy produce and underlined the need to extend maximum help which is the need of the hour.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy not fulfilled his assurance given to the farmers at the time of elections, he alleged. TDP is watching the functioning of the government relating to farmers and advised the government to think positively relating to farmers problems. TDP leaders V Prasad, V Nani, VV Rao, P Prakash, V Nanibabu and scores of farmers participated in the rally.
