Rallies mark World Kidney Day
Visakhapatnam: Holding placards and images that represent kidney care, students from nursing schools, professors and doctors took out a rally on Thursday to mark the 'World Kidney Day,' observed on the second Thursday in March.
The rally was held at RK Beach, roping in the staff of Apollo Hospitals and Andhra Medical College. Along with the students, chief of nephrology of the hospital T Ravi Raju and Principal of AMC P V Sudhakar also participated in the 'kidney' walk.
They said that the number of deaths due to kidney failure is rising at an alarming rate for the past few years and care should be taken to prevent renal ailments. Adequate consumption of water, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle were some of the tips the experts recommended on the occasion.
