Re-tenders for Polavaram Project to give contracts to companies favour to CM

Guntur: TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said that there is no enough ground and necessity for pre-closure of the present contracts and re-tendering the works, particularly in view of satisfactory progress of the work by the existing contractors.

He was addressing a media conference at his residence at Undavalli on Friday, he said that it is difficult to attribute any particular defect between old and new contractors. He said, this will create unforeseen complications. He questioned who gave permission to the government to call re-tenders ? who will be held responsible for project safety and security. He recalled that price bid will be opened after technical qualifying bid. He questioned what is the need to finalize price bid. He alleged that he changed the norms to give tenders to companies favourable to him. He opposed the reverse tendering system.
