Residents seek shifting of wine shops in Tirupati

Tirupati: Residents in several localities near Annarao Circle in the city staged a dharna on Monday demanding the shifting of two wine shops from the busy circle.

The residents, led by BJP state secretary G Bhanuprakash Reddy, squatted before the wine shops protesting the negligent attitude of the Excise officials who failed to respond to their demand.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the two shops are located just opposite `Brahmam gari Gudi' on KT Road and also near Malayala Swamy Government Aided high-school. The residents of various localities who pass through the road are facing lot of inconvenience from the customers coming to the two wine shops, he said.
