Respecting teachers our tradition, says MP

Rajamahendravaram: MP Margani Bharat Ram has said that respecting teachers was part and parcel of our tradition from the ancient days. A teacher was regarded as superior to god. Teacher moulds the student and gives knowledge, he added.

Participating in Guru Pujotsavam celebrations held at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram here on Thursday, he said the government is celebrating Dr Sarevepalli Radha Krishnan's birthday as Guru Pujootsvam to honour the great teacher. Teacher can elevate anyone in society by giving knowledge, he said.

The state government is very much particular to take quality education at the doorstep of the student. Former MLA Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao said teachers are transforming students as responsible citizens. Mandal development officer Subhashini, YSRCP leader Akula Virraju and others were present.
