Rich tributes paid to Mahatma in Vizianagaram
Vizianagaram: Official Language Commission Chairman Y Lakshmi Prasad said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was a global leader.
Many international leaders like Barack Obama, Martin Luther King and well-known scientist Albert Einstein were also inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and followed his ideology. On Sunday, Lakshmi Prasad unveiled 112 Gandhi statues at a time at Thotapalli village of Garugubilli mandal in Vizianagaram district and later addressed the local farmers and people.
He said that he world is looking towards India after being inspired by our traditions and culture. The world is looking towards natural farming and people are now more conscious about their health.
Lakshmi Prasad said, "Even USA also has more organic outlets and we should promote natural farming for the benefit of our society. We should encourage natural farming and protect our nature. Actually Gandhian ideology is very similar to nature."
Later, he released a book comprising songs written on natural farming and felicitated the writers. Dr D Parinaidu, founder of Jattu Trust said, "We should walk on the footprints of Mahatma Gandhi and publicise his ideology along with natural farming. Our motive is to spread natural farming all over the State." Padma Sri awardee Y Venkateswara Rao also participated in the programme.
