Road Transport Dept launches online services in Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Road Transport department Srikakulam region officials have adopted technology absolutely to provide quick services and to prevent irregularities. Complete online services were introduced at Deputy Transport Commissioner's (DTC) office in city and other four motor vehicle inspectors' (MVI) offices at Palakonda, Tekkali, Palasa, Itchapuram in the district.

Persons who need learners driving licences can directly go to their nearest transport department's office without booking for slat throughMee Seva.Licences and vehicle registration cards returned to the transport offices, due to non-tracing of address, will be sent to concerned MVI's office in the district and card holders can collect them. They need not come to DTC office in Srikakulam.

Test driving tracks for bikes, four wheelers and heavy vehicles were computerised at Etcherla test driving track to prevent irregularities. Daily services like renewals, tax payments etc are being monitored by the DTC through closed circuit cameras.

Total 12 CC cameras are arranged at DTC office here. Organisers of licensed internet centers are also entering wrong details and documents for online registration of vehicles which can also be found by comparing details in another source through Aadhar numbers of the vehicle owners.

The steps were initiated about one month ago after assuming Dr Vaddi Sundar as Deputy Transport Commissioner (DTC) for Srikakulam. "I have arranged CC Cameras at 12 places in our office after I assumed charge and later adopted complete online service," Dr Vaddi Sundar explained to The Hans India.
