Roja takes charge as Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Chairperson in Guntur
Guntur: Nagari MLA R K Roja assumed office as Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) chairperson at its head office in Mangalagiri on Monday. She will continue in the post for a period of two years.
She expected a berth in the state Cabinet, but due to caste equations she did not get it. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had assured APIIC chief post to her and the government issued orders to this effect.
Speaking to media after taking charge, she said that Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was always favourable to women and extended support to them. She further said, "If we go through Navaratnalu and state budget, we can understand it.''
Roja assured that she will try to develop infrastructure to set up industrial units in the state and added that Jagan Mohan Reddy had given priority to industrial development in the budget.
She assured that she will cooperate with the entrepreneurs to set up industries and recalled that the Chief Minister had assured 75 per cent jobs to local youth in the industries to be set up in the state. She further said that she will maintain transparency in the land allotments for industries and thanked Jagan for giving her an opportunity to work as APIIC chairperson.
Meanwhile, MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy is expecting to get CRDA chief post. YSRCP leader and former IPS officer Chandragiri Yesuratnam is expected to get AP Police Housing Corporation chairman post.
