Rs 1500 crores sanctioned for new school buildings and basic need in the schools- education minister
Kadapa: State education minister A.Suresh has said that government has sanctioned Rs 1500 for construction of new school building and providing infrastructure facilities in existing schools in the state. The minister who was in Kadapa addressed the meeting on Manabadi Nadu-Nedu orientation programme for education department officials here on Saturday.
He said the government has secured 30lakhs photographs of old and dilapidated school buildings in the state. After the restoration of these buildings again photographs would be taken up and displayed them in the public under Manabadi Nadu-Nedu programme. He said funds would be spent on infrastructure facilities like toilets, running water, paintings, furniture, etc facilities in a big way.
Saying that the government is spending funds in a big way for promotion of qualitative education by deploying qualified teachers, and at the same time it will need to bring awareness among the public over government has taken up developmental activities in the educational sector. He said the chief minister is keen on fulfilling teacher post every year by conducting the District Selection Committee. District Collector CH. Harikiran said that there are 4.42lakh students were studying in 4,600 schools in the district.
He said that eye tests are being conducted to the all-school children under YSR Kanti velugu programme. He said the district administration is initiating steps for providing infrastructure facilities in the schools. RJD M.Srishna Reddy, Intermediate RJD K.Chandra Sekhar Reddy, DEO Sailaja and others were present.
