Rs 346.46 cr municipal outlay approved
Tirupati: The municipal council general body meeting, held on Thursday, approved Rs 346.46 crore budget for the financial year of 2024-2025.
Corporation chairman Dr R Sirisha and Commissioner D Haritha presented the budget and explained the details of the allocations made for various works and proposals. The budget allocations include Rs 59 lakh to provide route optimisation service to garbage collection vehicles, Rs 1.99 crore for procurement of urgent materials, new motors, pumps, repairs of soft starters, new transformers, aluminium cables in Telugu Ganga pump houses, Rs 34,60,17,696 allotted for the salaries of 1,557 outsourcing staff for 2024-25.
Rs 1,200 has been allotted for the sterilisation and vaccination of each stray dog. They also approved the revised estimates for the year 2023-2024 in the meeting.
Deputy Mayor Bhumana Abhinay Reddy said with the support of corporators and officials, several works have been taken up for improving roads, drinking water, sanitation facilities and others.
MLC Dr Cipai Subrahmanyam stated Tirupati has become a role model for other cities in the country with its massive expansion of roads solving traffic problems.
City MLA and TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy participated as the chief guest, while corporators, Standing Council members, officials of various department participated in the meeting.
