Rs 37,500 crore investments likely to come up in Nellore
Nellore: District Collector K V N Chakradhar Babu said the investments worth Rs 37,500 crore are likely to come up as part of Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) in the district. He inspected the lands in Chillakur and Kota mandals on Friday and said the corridor would boost avenues to the unemployed educated youth in the region.
The collector inspected CBIC lands in Chillakur mandal close to the Nekkanti Mega Food Park and collected information from the officials on the number of industrial units that have already opened so far and the projects under the pipeline. He also said officials were estimating around Rs 5,735 crore needed for developing infrastructure facilities in the corridor.
Chakradhar Babu also said the Krishnapatnam node was expected to provide direct employment to 2.96 lakh people and indirect employment to 1.71 lakh people. He asked the officials to speed up the process of developing infrastructure. APIIC General Manager P Chandrasekhar, Tahsildars of Kota and Chillakur were also present.
