RSATSF personnel arrest two TN smugglers, seize 45 RS logs in Tirupati

Tirupati: RSASTF (Red-sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force) seized 45 red-sanders logs and arrested two smugglers from Tamil Nadu in the early hours on Friday.

Task Force RSI Vijay team participated in the combing operation and arrested the accused and seized the logs. According to Task Force in-charge Ravisankar, the team which took up combing in Srivarimettu beat found a car with its dicky opened with four logs in it.

RSI team went ahead in the forest to find a group of smugglers carrying logs on their head moving in another route to outside the forest. The Task Force surrounded them. After initial resistance, the smugglers ran away throwing the logs they were carrying. The Task Force personnel who chased them managed to catch two smugglers while the remaining escaped.

In the search the Task Force personnel found the 41logs that were left behind by the smugglers while fleeing the forest area and recovered them along with the car and four logs in it. The two arrested smugglers were identified as Annamalai Ramaswmy (52) from Puliveeru and Periyappan Ramaswamy (48) of Koilnadu in Tiruvannamalai district.
