Kurnool: Rayalaseema Saguneeti Sadana Samithi (RSSS) president Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy has appealed to people's representatives to exert pressure on the government for setting up the office of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) in Kurnool. In a press release on Monday, Dasaratha Rami Reddy stated that the Srisailam Reservoir was the key project and catering to the needs of drinking and irrigation to both Telugu-speaking states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Even power generation was also being generated at right and left bank canals of the Srisailam project, he pointed out.

Stating that the government was planning to set up the KRMB office at Visakhapatnam, he said if the office was set up in Visakhapatnam, then several problems are likely to arise between the two states with regard to water usage and power generation. The government, following the instructions in Sri Bagh Pact, has announced Kurnool to be the judiciary capital. As part of Judiciary capital, he demanded the government to set up KRMB at Kurnool.

Regarding the issue several letters have been sent to all political parties for setting up the KRMB office in Kurnool. Despite the issue raised on several occasions, the government was planning to set up it in Visakhapatnam, which was very unfortunate. He said the Rayalaseema Saguneeti Sadana Samithi was opposing the decision of the government, added Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy.

He appealed to the people's representatives to exert pressure on the government to set up the KRMB office at Kurnool instead of Visakhapatnam. The people's representatives have to raise their voice instead of keeping mum at this crucial juncture, stated Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy.
