RTC cargo services become popular in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram: APSRTC earning good revenue through its cargo services that were started in May 2016. Efficient and timely transport of RTC cargo services are attracting more and more customers.
RTC Logistics division assistant traffic manager (commercial) K Ramesh told The Hans India that for the year 2019-2020 a target of Rs 125 crore was fixed as against of Rs 72 crore in the year 2018-2019, and in 2016--2017 the income was Rs 16 crore while it was Rs 45 crore in 2017-2018.
East Godavari district stood in first by earning Rs 9 crore in 2018-2019 and Rs 15 crore target has been fixed for the year 2019-2020. The district's daily average income is between Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 2.75 lakh with daily 2,000 bookings getting registered and 1,500 consignment delivered.
In Rajamahendravaram, the number of bookings are in between 700 to 900 everyday with revenue of Rs 1 lakh and recently the delivery office was opened at an estimated cost of Rs 18 lakh. RTC is giving 10 per cent commission on booking of material and in the district there are 50 agents working in Logistics.
Home delivery was also available in Tuni, Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram and Razole in the district. Sending parcels through APSRTC is safe with fast delivery. Adequate compensation is also paid as per rules in case of any damage, he added.
