Rythu Bharosa Over 3L farmers to benefit in Prakasam
Ongole: Minister for energy, forests, environment, science and technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy launched the YSR Rythu Bharosa- PM Kissan Yojana in Prakasam district on Tuesday.
After launching the programme in Agriculture Market Yard here, the minister said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy designed the scheme to provide Rs 13,500 as an incentive to all farmers irrespective of caste and creed with the inspiration from many people-friendly schemes of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
He said that the government will distribute about Rs 7,290 crore as an incentive to the 54 lakh farmers in the state in the coming five years under the scheme. He said that the government established a price stabilisation fund with Rs 3000 crore to provide minimum support price to the farmers through Markfed. He assured that the government would take measures to provide water for agriculture to all farmers under Nagarjunasagar canal in the district.
District collector Dr Pola Bhaskara said that the Chief Minister was distributing the incentive of Rs 13,500 to support the farmers as agriculture was going through a crisis. He said that the government assured the supply of seeds and fertilisers after conducting the free soil tests.
He said that the government is also planning to supply micronutrients also to increase productivity and advised the farmers to utilise the schemes. He announced that the government was depositing Rs 236 core to 3,01,965 farmers in the district and advised the farmers to apply for the YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kissan Yojana by November 1 as the government had extended the deadline.
Minister Srinivasa Reddy, Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and the collector presented the mega cheque for Rs 236 crore to the farmers. The Santhanutalapadu MLA T J R Sudhakara Babu, A J C K Narendra Prasad, agriculture JD T V Srirama Murthy, and other officials and public representatives also participated in the programme.
