Safety measures for women beefed up: SP Aishwarya Rastogi

Nellore: Superintendent of Police Aishwarya Rastogi said that the District Police have taken measures to ensure women's safety. He addressed a meet on women safety at Umesh Chandra Conference hall in the city on Monday and said that the police have intensified patrolling on the National Highway and also on the roads leading to the villages from the National highway.

'Shakti teams, mobile patrolling, highway patrolling, and blue coats patrolling have been kept on alert to identify the strangers, suspects, persons involving in consumption of liquor in public places' said the SP.

Any woman/girl if feels insecure at any place or suspects being trapped by anybody or under any other suspicious circumstances has to dial 100, 112, 181 or district helpline number 9390777727 or Cyber Mitra cell no 9121211100 for support, he added.

SP also explained that while traveling by taxi/auto they have to inform vehicle numbers to their relatives/friends and should be alert during the journey to prevent diversion of the vehicle from the main route. Aishwarya Rastogi said that all Station House Officers in the district have already been instructed to visit the Women/Girls hostels in their areas to interact with the residents.

Any attack on women/girls will be taken seriously and stringent action will be taken against the persons registering criminal cases, he added
