Sand available on all days: Minister Nani

Gudivada: Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) said that measures were being taken to ensure the continuous supply of sand to the people through stock yards.

As part of observing 'Sand Week' in the district, the Minister, paid a visit to residential areas along with Gudivada RDO GV Satyavani, mining department officials and others on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a decision to supply sand to people on all the 365 days in a year without causing any incontinence. The State government had taken all the precautionary measures to supply sand from September 5. However, due to the rains, it could not happen.

He said that 200 sand reaches will be in operation out of 280 sand ramps in the district. The sand will be supplied to the people without any middle men. The price fixed for sand was Rs 585 per tonne and any one can book sand online, said the minister.
