Sand stockyards in all municipalities: Dy CM

Kadapa: The State government is planning to set up sand stockyards in all municipalities, said Deputy Chief Minister SB Amzath Basha speaking after launching Mandaram sand reach, and Kitchamambapuram sand stock point in Rajampet mandal on Thursday. He mentioned 50,000 cubic metres of sand is available at Mandaram reach for domestic needs as per the new policy.

District Collector Ch Hari Kiran said as per new sand policy, the government has fixed the tariff Rs 375 per tonne and people can pay Rs 4.9 per kilometre either through their own vehicle or registered vehicle for transporting the sand.

He said consumers who required sand can registered their details by furnishing like name, Aadhaar number, construction address, through Mee Seva with 'sand sale management and mentioning system or www.sand.ap.gov.in through mobile by mentioning the details like name, Adar No, Construction address, as he will be allocated required sand at nearby reach.

Rajampet RDO Dharma Chandra Reddy, APMDC district-in charge M Siva Prasad Reddy, Rajampet former MLA A Amarnatha Reddy and others were present.
