Sanitation staff hail Mayor Sunkara Pavani over pay hike

Kakinada: About 250 sanitation workers who collect garbage from households and those work in Sulabh Complexes thanked Mayor Sunkara Pavani for accepting the proposal of salary hike from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 per month.

The workers along with their representatives met the Mayor at her chambers and thanked her for passing the resolution at the municipal council meet conducted on June 29. In this connection, they appealed to Mayor to issue orders for releasing of budget amount towards their two months' salary payable to them.

They also requested the Mayor to see that their two month pending salaries and monthly salaries are paid on or before 5th of every month. Mayor Pavani expressed her willingness to do needful on the issue.
