Eluru: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has called upon the youth to extensively participate in 'Save Constitution- Save India' all over the state to highlight the ruling BJP's attack on Constitution and institutions protecting it on Independence Day, August 15.

An appeal to this effect was made on the second day of DYFI state committee meet held here on Monday. Addressing the meeting, DYFI state president G Ramanna said that the attacks on Constitution have been increasing ever since BJP came to power. The Central government which is supposed to protect the Constitution has been making fun of it.

It was watering down even independent institutions. It is high time the youth agitate to safeguard the Constitution and save the nation from the clutches of BJP, he added. Several resolutions were passed at the meeting. DYFI leaders Sivakumar, Y Ramu, Phanindra, J Jagadish and others were present.
