Schools celebrate I-Day with patriotic fervour
Visakhapatnam: Delhi Public School, Anandapuram celebrated the 73d Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its Anandapuram campus. The school's Pro-Vice Chairman Revanth Viswanath, Correspondent Suma Revanth and Principal Eshwari Prabhakar addressed the students and spoke about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters to free the country from the British rule.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School also celebrated the Independence Day with great pride and gaiety. On the occasion, the student choir presented patriotic song and the fancy dress competition on the theme patriotism was the highlight of the event. Moral story – telling and essay writing competitions were also conducted. The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets.
Little Angels School, Ukkunagaram celebrated the day with grandiosity. The student chief guest K Rama Sai Sumitha unfurled the flag and the school choir roused the patriotic fervour among the crowd. An article was presented about the importance of Independence Day and the role responsibility of youth towards the country.
School director M Ranganayaki addressed the students and advised them to take pride in being an Indian. She encouraged them to believe in themselves as the country needs strong-minded youth. Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar wore a festive look on the occasion. Colonel K. Srinivasa Rao, best known for his bravery and acumen when he served as the Director of the Artillery operations during the Kargil war graced the event as chief guest.
