Schools to get facilities during Round table Week in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: A roundtable week organised jointly by Vijayawada Round Table (VRT) and Vijayawada Ladies Circle (VLC) commenced here on Friday. As part of it, they visited various schools and observed infrastructural facilities and organised social service activities, said VRT chairman V Veera Raghava Chowdary and VLC chairperson V Vimala Devi.

Addressing the media on Friday, they said that as part of the week they will visit all the municipal schools and identify schools which do not have proper infrastructure facilities, toilets, OR plants, benches and others facilities and would provide them.

They would organise blood donation camps, 'Go Green' camps and plant about 3,000 samplings, provide basic things for mentally disabled children and organise games for them. They would also provide employment to students who ha  ve studied in government schools and are presently idle, they said.

The club national president Ch Sivaramakrishna said that they have constructed about 2152 toilets across the country. They constructed 6623 classrooms in 2849 schools across the country, he added.
