SCR GM assures to develop RJY station: MP

Rajamahendravaram: MP and YSRCP Parliamentary party chief whip Margani Bharat Ram said that he is making efforts to develop railway station in east side of the city.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Saturday, he said that South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Malya responded positively to the same when he discussed about the existing problems with him at his office in Secunderabad on Friday.

Bharat said that he underlined the need to develop the east railway station and construction of fourth and fifth platforms as the city was developing in fast pace and the existing platforms were not able to meet the rush of trains.

He said the coal sider should be shifted to Kadiyam from the existing place near the east railway station as the people are facing many problem with it. A request was also made to GM to transfer SCR land on Kovvur side to develop old Havelock rail bridge on river Godavari as a tourist hub, he stated. The government is ready to handover necessary land instead of private land in this regard, he averred.
