SEB cops seize 4,176 liquor bottles and 20,564 ghutka packets in Kurnool

Kurnool: The cops of Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) have seized huge quantity of liquor bottles, Non Duty Paid Liquor (NDPL) that is being transported into Andhra Pradesh from the adjacent states, Telangana and Karnataka on Thursday.

Around 4276 NDPL of various brands, 20564 banned ghutka packets 258 litres of country made liquor, 12 litres of toddy, 4.5 tons of sand and eight vehicles were seized. The cops have filed 31 cases and arrested 33 persons. In addition to seizure of liquor and ghutka sachets, the cops have also destroyed 2300 litres of jaggery wash.

The SEB cops have appealed the people to inform the police about the illegal transportation of liquor, sand and other banned and spurious products. The people are urged to upload the photos and videos of illegal trade on WhatsApp no. +917993822444. The informers name would never be revealed, assured the cops.

The SEB Circle Inspector Lakshmi Durgaiah said that transportation liquor from Telangana into Andhra Pradesh is strictly not allowed. If anyone carrying the liquor would be viewed seriously and punished as per the law, stated Lakshmi Durgaiah.
