Second Coronavirus case Confirmed at Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh
Amaravati: The Coronavirus second positive case registered in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, according to the latest bulletin released by the State government here at Amaravati.
Blood samples of a person who has been undergoing treatment at an isolation ward at Ongole Government hospital in Prakasam was tested positive, informed KS Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary, department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare.
The patient returned to Andhra Pradesh from London on March 15. As he was suffering with cough and fever at that time, the doctors collected samples and sent to the lab in Tirupati. The test results showed coronavirus positive.
It is worth mentioning that the first positive case registered in Nellore district. Which also has the migration history, like in the case of the patient at Ongole.
The health and medical department has tested 109 samples so far in the State. Out of which 2 samples tested positive, 94 negative and awaited for the remaining 13 samples results as on Thursday. The total number of persons identified for observation are 883, out of them 254 completed 28 days observation, 607 are under home isolation and remaining 22 are under hospital admission.
