Kurnool: The police department, in a press release on Saturday, stated that taking out rallies, organising mass meetings and gatherings at one place is strictly prohibited. The officials stated that Section 30 of Police Act 1861 has been imposed from December 5 and it would be in force till January 3, 2021.

Even December 6 would be observed as Black Day, the day of Babri Masjid demolition, every year and the people of Muslim community would take out rallies. Organising rallies, public meetings and assembling of people at one place would hamper the peace and tranquility in the area.

Regarding the issue, town DSP K V Mahesh visited One town police station on Saturday and held a meeting with the community elders of Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). He said organising rallies, meetings and others was strictly not allowed as the Police Act 30 has been promulgated.

Those persons, who ignore the orders, would be punished as per the act. If anyone wants to organise meetings, rallies or protests, they have to take prior permission from the police department without which they should not involve in such activities, stated the DSP.

DSPs of Nandyal, Adoni, Allagadda, Dhone and Atmakur have also convened meeting with the elders of Muslim community and informed about the promulgation of Section 30 of Police Act.
