Seeds, fertilizers through Rythu Bharosa Centres soon
Guntur: District collector I Samuel Anand Kumar on Thursday directed the officials to make arrangements to sell quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides through the Rythu Bharosa centres. He addressed a meeting held at the Collectorate in Guntur city on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, he directed the officials concerned to give suggestions and necessary advice to the farmers to get more yield with less investment. He said that the State government has taken steps to set up Rythu Bharosa Centres in the rural areas for the convenience of the farmers. He said that the aim of the State government was to take steps and ensure that the farmers would not incur any losses due to the spurious seeds and fertilizers which will lead to suicides.
He said that the Rythu bharosa centres will come up parallel to the village secretariats. Joint Director of Agriculture Krupa Das said that there is need to construct godowns in the rural areas in 1,000 sq ft to keep stock of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds to be supplied to the farmers. The officials of the Agriculture and Irrigation departments were also present on the occasion.
