Seetharama Kalyanam performed in a grand note at Vontimitta on Thursday

Kadapa: As part of Navahnika Brahmoswavams of Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy temple which is well known of Andhra Ayodhya located at Vontimitta village of Rajampet mandal Spiritualism and devotion marked the divine wedding of Sri Rama with his consort Sita Ammavaru on Thursday

The divine couple were united in wedlock in Chaitra Chathurdasi 'Hasta Nakshatra Lagnam'at 8PM at glittering ceremony. Sita Rama Kalyanam held at colorful Kalyanamandapam on Thursday night.

Chief Minister N.Chandrababu naidu along with his wife Nara Buvaneswari attended the divine wedding and p presented Mutuala Talambralu, Pattu vastrams on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government to the divine couple in line with the tradition.

Joint state Governor ESL Narasimhan along with first lady presented special pooja items to the diets. TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav , EO Anilkumar Singhal received along with temple priests received Chief Minister, Governor with Poorna Kumbham in a traditional manner.

The wedding was performed amid chanting of Vedic hymns, Nadaswaram and beating of drums in Hasta Nakshatra Lagnam at 8PM. It was witnessed by thousands of devotees who thronged to the temple and waited patiently under the specially erected Shaminas .. The entire wedding procedure has been performed under 'Pancha Agama sastram' system . The wedding process which begins exactly 8PM and concluded around 10PM.

Earlier the processional idols of Lord Rama and his consort Sita were brought to the Kalyanamandapam in a ceremonial function. The idols were adorned with gold ornaments presented by TTD. Undeterred by heat and humid conditions, scores of devotees witnessed elaborate divine wedding ceremony soaked in divine bliss as the entire Kalyanamandapam echoed with Vedic Chants during the fete that lasted for more than two hours.

Meanwhile the TTD which has organized divine wedding supplied 6lakh water pockets, and 2 lakh butter milk pockets to the devotees . About 100 counters were arranged in the premises of the temple in view of distributing 2 lakh packets Talambralu and prasdadams to the devotees.
