Select Committee files rejected, TDP to issue defiance notice against council secretary
The Select Committee file issued by the legislative council to examine three capital bills was sent back to chairman of the council stating that the formation of the select committee is not in accordance with rules and regulations. The secretary said that the bill being sent to committee under rule 154 is invalid.
Against this backdrop, the TDP, BJP and PDF have met the legislative council secretary and argued that the committee be formed under Rule 154 in accordance with chairman's statement. The TDP has decided to issue a defiance notice to the council secretary if the latter has not formed the committee immediately. TDP MLCs are likely to give notice on Tuesday morning.
On the other hand, the selection committee controversy over the cancellation of the CRDA Bill and the decentralization of administration is still ongoing. TDP MLCs Budda Venkanna, NagajaBuddhash, Ashok Babu, Bachula Arjuna, and others met the council secretary Balakrishnamacharya. They urged the Secretary to follow by the Chairman's direction and form the select committees.
During the debate in the AP Legislative Council over decentralization and the dissolution of the CRDA bills, the chairman of the council Shariff recommended the bills for a select committee. The TDP, BJP and PDF has given names for the committees. However, Deputy CM and MLC Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose wrote a letter stating that they would not be present in the Select Committee as it was constituted unconstitutionally.
