Senior medical students rags junior at RIMS, forces him to do 600 sit-ups, principal launches probe

First-year medicine student of government medical college (RIMS) in Kadapa district was allegedly ragged by the senior students for the last one week. The junior student who was fed up over torture and harassment has complaint to the principal of the college.

According to the reports, the third year medical student has reportedly made the junior medical to do 600 sit-ups at a single stretch, which made the victim complain to authorities.

Principal Dr Prasad Rao responded to the incident by setting up an inquiry committee with the vice-principal and four faculty doctors. "If the harassment is found, we will lodge a complaint with the police and report to the Director of State Medical Education (DME), " principal stated.
