Services rendered by CRC for differently-abled lauded

Agriculture Minister K Govardhan Reddy lighting the lamp to inaugurate a Mega Job Mela for the differently-abled at CRC in Venkatachalam on Tuesday

Nellore: The government is supporting the differently-abled people in every possible way and is working for their welfare, said Minister for Agriculture, Cooperation and Marketing Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

The Minister inaugurated a Mega Job Mela organised by composite regional centre to mark the 7th anniversary of its skill development centre for differently-abled persons at Kanupuru Bit-II in Venkatachalam mandal on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the composite regional centre (CRC), which is a national level institution, is providing better services to the disabled and it is a blessing to have this centre in the district. The Minister specially appreciated the services rendered by the centre to the differently-abled by conducting various medical treatments and vocational training classes for their speedy recovery.

He said serving the disabled was a greater opportunity than serving the common man and that opportunity has been given to the staff here and said that expert trainers at the centre are providing all kinds of therapies and are working towards ensuring that the divyang population lead a better life in the society. He said parents should also take care of their children with self-confidence and determination and strive to provide them with a better future.

"We are providing all kinds of tools and motor vehicles to the differently-abled and soon a mega mela will be organised and more necessary sub-factors will be provided," he added. He said many differently-abled people had got jobs in the job mela held earlier also and now some more are getting opportunities.

He said more and more efforts will be made for the development of the centre in the coming days. The Minister reminded that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was taking all necessary steps to support the disabled.

Later, Kakani handed over opportunity letters and motor vehicles to the differently-abled persons.

On this occasion, the Minister observed the exhibition organised by the divyang population showcasing their skills.

Director of NIEPID, Secunderabad, BV Ramkumar, Assistant Director of disabled welfare department Nagaraja Kumari, composite regional centre director Raj Manipal, coordinator Maruthi Krishna, administrative officer Pradeep, rehabilitation officer Praveen Kumar and local leaders were present.
