Vijayawada: Blood donations from state to mandal level, cake-cutting, distribution of fruits, food and clothes to the poor across the state are some of the programmes that have been lined up by YSRCP to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who completes 48 years on Monday.

This will be the second birthday for Jagan Mohan Reddy after becoming the Chief Minister of the state.

The party leaders have asked the rank and file to strictly follow Covid-19 guidelines like wearing masks and maintaining physical distance. The party cadre will also utilise the occasion to showcase the welfare schemes being implemented by the state government during the last 18 months, said MVS Nagireddy, YSRCP leader and vice-chairman of the AP Agriculture Mission.

Huge flexes and banners have come up along all the roads in Vijayawada and in districts with photos of local leaders along with the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with congratulatory messages. The leaders and functionaries of YSRCP farmers' wing, students' union, YSR teachers' federation, trade unions and other organisations will join the celebrations on Monday. YSRCP medical wing Krishna district president Dr Mahabub along with the party workers on Sunday distributed fruits to the inmates of Prem Dan, a home for the poor run by Missionaries of Charities in Gunadala and cut a cake a day in advance marking the beginning of the celebrations.
