Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election: TDP to expose govt's failures

Tirupati: Several senior TDP leaders were kept under house arrest by police in Chittoor district in a bid to foil their Chalo Thamballapalle programme on Saturday. Following clashes between ruling YSRCP and TDP cadres in which one TDP activist was injured and some vehicles are damaged in Angallu village of Thamballapalle constituency on Friday, the party gave the call to protest there today.

To prevent any untoward incidents in this regard, police house arrested leaders including former minister N Amarnath Reddy, N Kishore Kumar Reddy, G Shankar Yadav, Pulivarthy Nani, BN Rajasimhulu, G Narasimha Yadav and others at their respective places. Police has made it clear that no rallies or demonstrations are allowed in view of the Covid norms and when police act 30 was in vogue.
