Show special interest for effective implementation of Jal Sakthi Abhiyan
Kadapa: District Collector CH. Harikiran has directed the officials to show special interest for effective implementation of the central government's prestigious scheme 'Jal Sakthi Abhiyan' in the interest of recharging groundwater levels.
The collector has inspected ongoing Jal Sakthi Abhiyan works along with central nodal official Suresh at Zilla Parishad High School, Devaraya Nalla Gangamma temple, Devakatla, Metlakatla areas in Sambepalle Mandal on Thursday.
Speaking the occasion he said that as many as 13 mandals like Vempalle, Vemula, Simhadripuram, Sambepalle, Rajampeta, Pullampeta, Porumamilla, Penagaluru, Obulavaripalle, Lingala, R.Koduru, Kamalapuram, Chinnamandem, were noticed and Jal Sakthi Abhiyan scheme as works were being in progress in that mandals. Central nodal official M.Sursh Kumar said that the aim of the central government is to protect the water by recharging ground water levels in various methods like constructing water pits, recharge constructions at bore wells, development of watersheds, etc works.
On this occasion, Sambepalle ZP high school students submitted a memorandum to the collector appealing to sanction funds for the construction of Compound wall, Additional classrooms, washrooms. Responding to their plea collector directed the officials to immediately prepare estimation of proposed constructions. District Water Management Project Director C.Hariharanath, APD M.Suresh and others were present.
