Siddhartha student attends youth exchange in Russia

NCC Army wing cadet Puneeth being congratulated by the PBS college management and principal on Tuesday

Vijayawada: NCC Army wing cadet of P B Siddhartha college of Arts and Science Sergeant R Puneeth, a student of first B Com attained the distinction of participating in Youth Exchange programme held at Russia from September 28 to October 6, said the college principal Dr M Ramesh here on Tuesday.

He said that Puneeth made a laudable effort to be part of this prestigious delegation to Russia as a youth ambassador to showcase the culture and tradition of India. He is the only cadet to achieve this opportunity of representing India from both Telugu states.

The Indian contingent to Russia headed by Col Ajay Kumar of Gujarat NCC Directorate comprised of 10 cadets selected from entire country through written test, group discussion, drill test and DG NCC personal interview as part of Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi in January this year. The team visited historic Red Square, Christ The Xavier Cathedral, Cremlin Church, Farm House, Armoury museum, Cadet school in Moscow.

Puneeth was congratulated by college director V Babu Rao, 17 Andhra NCC Battalion Commanding officer Lt Col P Kumar, Dean of the college Prof J Rajesh, Associate NCC Officer of college NCC Unit Lt K Vijay, former NCC officer K Sridhar, management, faculty and students.
