SIT intensifies investigation on Amaravati land irregularities, likely to probe officials
Andhra Pradesh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has intensified the investigation over the irregularities in capital Amaravati lands. The investigation team has conducted the probe on the officials who have been the frontliners for conducting land pooling in the then TDP regime. Already, the Deputy Collector Madhuri has been arrested and remanded. It is reported that SIT would prosecute more people if necessary. The SIT has identified illegal registrations of lands to the farmers who are persuaded to give away their lands.
The SIT team has identified the registration of public lands and ponds. Evidence has been collected that surplus lands and forest lands have been registered resulting in 150 acres of land irregularities. In addition to the deputy collector, the SIT officials focussed on revenue and staff management. Investigations revealed that TDP leaders did not leave single cent village secretariat lands.
SIT is investigating the role of the corrupt officials who resorted to the irregularities of the TDP leaders.
