SIT will not spare anyone involved in land scam: MLA Gudivada Amarnath
Visakhapatnam: Anakapalle MLA Gudivada Amarnath accused TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu, his son and party general secretary Nara Lokesh as the prime accused in the Visakhapatnam land scam.
Addressing the media here on Friday, Amarnath said the duo had made enough money from various land dealings in the district. "Though we have demanded the then TDP government to disclose the contents of the SIT report, the TDP government did not respond.
Even the then HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao requested the government to disclose the details. However, the TDP was careful enough not to reveal it," he pointed out. The MLA alleged that even the TDP office building in the city was a part of the land scam. The government would request the SIT to take it up for investigation, he informed.
YSRCP leader Dharmana Prasada Rao is reportedly part of the scam but the probe would not leave out anybody, Amarnath reiterated. He also accused the TDP leaders of putting into their pockets Rs 600 to Rs 700 crore worth of lands in the pretext of land pooling. He wondered whether it was wrong to conduct an enquiry into the alleged land dealings made by the TDP leaders.
The MLA said every issue would be brought before the SIT and those having any grievances could approach the competent authorities to get their issues resolved. "Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy stands committed to the people for the promise made to protect the lands in and around Visakhapatnam. It is the very reason why SIT was formed to check all the land dealings pertaining to the TDP regime," Amarnath added.
