Six suspected Covid-19 cases detected in Srikakulam district on Friday

Srikakulam: Six suspected Covid-19 cases detected in Srikakulam district on Friday. But officials are yet to make an announcement in this regard. Two suspected cases found at Punyapu Veedhi and Ch Satyannarayana Colony in the city. Another four suspected cases found in a quarantine centre in Kotturu mandal. In total 34 migrated workers stayed in the quarantine centre returned from Chennai. Out of the total 34 persons, 30 were shifted to quarantine centre at Kota Bommali mandal centre from Kotturu, said the mandal special officer B Mohan Rao.

In preliminary tests, positive results yielded for all six persons. Out of the six persons, four were shifted to Covid hospital Great Eastern Medical Sciences (GEMS) at Ragolu near Srikakulam city.

According to reliable sources, in total, 25 persons are being treated at GEMS with Covid symptoms. Municipal, revenue, police, medical and health officials alerted the local people at Punyapu Veedhi and Ch Satyannarayana Colony on Friday. "We are collecting samples from all quarantine centres across the district and send the same to Kakinada for final confirmation, which are yielded positive results locally in preliminary tests," said district surveillance officer for Covid Dr Bagadi Jagannadha Rao.
