Skill development training for polytechnic students begin in Tirupati

Government polytechnic students from Satyavedu undergoing skill development training in Sri City on Friday

Tirupati: A skill development training course meant for the final year mechanical engineering students of government polytechnic college in Satyavedu commenced on Wednesday at the Sri City-Siemens Technical Skill Development Institute (TSDI). The one-month course was designed in three modules, each for a duration of ten days.

Among the 35 students attended the programme, 11 students are undergoing expert level course in computer-aided solid edge designing, 12 are taking training in welding, and the remaining are undergoing foundation level training in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining.

After the completion of training in the respective modules, they will take training in the remaining modules, one after the other.

TSDI, which was established in May 2017 with an aim to develop skilled, in a tie-up with Siemens and Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), offers skill training to students of high schools, ITIs, polytechnic & engineering colleges in the region.
