Anantapur: Former vice-chancellor of Sri Krishnadevaraya University Prof K Rama Krishna opined that the proposal of three capitals system will help for the development all three regions in state. The concept of centralisation of power will help for growth and is a democratic model, he said.

`` A good part of revenue for any state is from taxes. There is a need for rapid growth of revenues which can be possible only in bigger business cities. Vishakhapatnam which is only metropolitan city in AP is highly suitable city through which our government can try to improve business and this helps to increase tax revenue,'' the former vice-chancellor felt. Similarly, by setting the judicial capital in Kurnool will help for the development of Rayalaseema region. Lastly the legislative capital in Amaravati is justified location which will fulfil the interests of coastal Andhra, he said.

In a statement released to the media on Saturday, Prof.Rama Krishna maintained that the present government appointed a High power committee to study Sivaramakrishna committee, G.N. Rao committee, Boston group committee. In all these committees, they have explained merits and demerits of various places for setting up of capital. Moreover, all these committee recommended decentralised capital system in the state.
