Solar Eclipse: No darshan in Tiruchanur temple on June 21
Tirupati: In view of Solar eclipse on June 21, the temples in Tirupati including Tiruchanur, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Appalayagunta will remain closed till afternoon.
There will be no darshan in Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru, Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy and Sri Kapileswara Swamy temples due to the eclipse.
After Ekanta Seva on June 20, the temple doors of respective shrines will be closed. They will be opened at 2.30pm after purification rituals like Suddhi, Punyaha Vachanam are performed as per Agama on June 21.
In Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Tiruchanur near Tirupati, the TTD dispensed with the darshan on June 21 due to Suryagrahanam as the rituals will last till 7.30 pm on that day.
After the opening of shrine on Solar eclipse day, first Sudhi and Punyahavachanam will be performed followed by rituals like Suprabatham, Sahasramanamarchana, Nithyarchana and Naivedyam after which the temple will be closed at 7.30 pm without darshan to pilgrims.
However, in temples like Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy, after Suddhi and other rituals between 4pm and 6pm, the devotees will be allowed for darshan between 6pm and 7pm followed by evening Tomala Seva and Ekanta Sevas before the closure of the temples.
In Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram, after Suddhi the devotees will be allowed for darshan between 4.30 pm and 6pm.
In Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple at Tirupati, after performing Suddhi, Punyahavachanam, the Kainkaryams to the presiding deity will be performed. However, there will be no darshan for devotees.
While in Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, after Suddhi and other Kainkaryams, there will be Ekanta Seva between 5.45pm and 6.15pm and darshan is dispensed with for devotees, according to a press release from TTD here on Wednesday.
