Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Amaravati capital

Amaravati: The TDP senior leader and former Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy questioned that how could the Government allot house sites on the lands taken from the farmers on the name of constructing a capital city in the Amaravati. After visiting the protesting farmers at the villages in the Amaravati capital region on Wednesday, he asked the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that how could he allot the lands to the poor at the place which was earlier termed as the graveyard by the YSRCP leaders and ministers.

Reacting on the meagre allocation of the lands to the poor, he said that the decision of registering just 1 cent land to each household will not serve any purpose in constructing the independent house. He said that the proposed 1 cent of the land to the poor was equal to the washroom of Botcha Satyanarayana, Minister for Urban Development.

He warned that the Chief Minister could not move the capital from Amaravati, even a single inch. He told that the government gave a commitment under the agreement to the farmers while taking their agriculture lands under the Land Pooling Scheme. According to that agreement, the government has to construct the capital city Amaravati. Even prime minister Narendra Modi himself came and laid the foundation stone for construction of the Amaravati as the world-class capital city and the central government also released funds for that.

The TDP leader said that even if the Chief Minister will split it and shift it forcefully, it will come back with the same force and speed.

Reacting on the comments of the BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao on the three capitals, Chandramohan Reddy suggested him to shift the capital of Uttar Pradesh, if he has guts.
