Speaker T Sitaram recalls Jyotirao Phule services to weaker sections in Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram on Thursday recalled the services of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, who sacrificed his life for welfare of poor, backward and weaker sections of people.

Garlanding the statue of Phule along with Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Krishna Das on the occasion of his 129 death anniversary at the BC Welfare department here on Thursday, the Speaker said that Phule fought against social evils 100 years ago and sacrificed his life for upliftment of poor and backward sections of people.

Minister Dharmana Krishna Das lauded services of Phule for backward and weaker sections. District Collector J Nivas and officials explained the services of Phule for advancement of backward classes.
