Sri Devi Navarathri celebrations begin in Kakinada
Kakinada: Sri Devi Navarathri celebrations began on a grand scale here on Sunday with the participation of several religious organisations and temples.
Spiritual speaker 'Brahmasri' Chaganti Koteswara Rao launched the celebrations at Ayyappa Swamy Temple and many women participated in Kumkum pooja and other rituals.
He explained the power of Goddess `Abhirami' and exhorted the people to inculcate good qualities and good behavior in their daily lives. He said that the Goddess would give such powers if they worship Her with devotion.
Swamy Paripoornananda Saraswathi launched Dasara celebrations at Sree Peetham. The devotees participated in the several pooja programmes at the Peetham and they have darshan of Goddess Iswaryambhika.
Social activist Dusarlpudi Ramana Raju inaugurated Devi Pooja at Rajiv Gruhakalpa area organised by Vijaya Kanaka Durga Utsava Samithi. The celebrations reflected the Sanathana Hyndava Dharma, he said and added that massive kumkum poojas will be performed everyday.
