Srikakulam: All set for Rathasapthami festival in Arasavalli

Srikakulam: All arrangements have been made at the Sun God temple in Arasavalli on the eve of Rathasapthami celebrations on Saturday. Separate queue lines were arranged for donor passholders, Rs 500, Rs 100 and free darshan ticket holders. To monitor the devotees rush, CC cameras and controlroom was arranged in and around the temple. District Collector J Nivas, SP R N Ammi Reddy inspected the arrangements on Friday evening.

Meanwhile the issue of huge number of vehicles passes for four-wheelers attracting criticism from both endowment and revenue staff. As per norms, vehicles pass need to be issued only for VVIP and VIPs. As per norm, 50 VVIPs are expected to visit the temple on Saturday during the festival and passes should be confined to 50. But police violated the Collector orders and issued 500 vehicle passes. In this backdrop, revenue officials are expecting huge rush and traffic problem would be imminent on Saturday. Based on the vehicles pass, about 3,000 devotees are expected to visit the temple which will create rush in queue lines. Medical camps were also arranged around the temple and several NGOs will also provide their services on the eve of festival.
