Srikakulam: Bandh evokes good response in Srikakulam dist

Srikakulam: Bharat Bandh evoked good response across Srikakulam district on Tuesday. Activists of the Left parties and other Opposition parties observed one-day bandh by opposing the farm laws enacted by the BJP-led NDA government. With the support of the YSRCP government in the State, bandh received good response in Srikakulam district.

The State government also expressed its solidarity with the agitating farmers. Leaders of Congress, CPM, CPI, CPI (ML-ND) and CITU took out rallies and staged protests in front of Central government offices, postal superintendent office, BSNL etc in Srikakulam.

They also staged a dharna in front of the APSRTC complex here and bus services were stopped till noon. All State and Central government offices remained closed till noon in the wake of bandh.

Educational institutions from KG to PG in both government and private sectors declared holiday to prevent any inconvenience to the students and teachers.

Leaders of Left parties, Congress and trade unions, demanded that the Central government immediately repeal the 3 new farm laws which are detrimental to the interests of farmers.
