Srikakulam: Corona alert sounded at temples

Srikakulam: Coronavirus (covid-19) alert sounded at noted temples in the district where large number of devotees' influx is expected.

The noted temples include Sun God temple at Arasavalli, Kurmanadha temple at Sri Kurmam and Mukhalingeswara temple at Srimukhalingam, where warning boards arranged by the temple officials creating awareness on the deadly virus, its symptoms and necessary precautions to prevent it.

The temple officials and staff suggested the devotees to keep certain distance in queue lines and avoid close contact with each other while going for darshan of the temple shrine.

Meanwhile the temple officials said, "We are cleaning the iron grills of queue lines for every two hours to prevent the spread of disease."

As part of prevention of spreading coronavirus in the district, the government also set up isolation wards at the Government RIMS Hospital, Srikakulam and state hospital at Tekkali to treat patients who admitted with coronavirus symptoms.

Speaking to The Hans India on Monday, District Immunisation Officer Dr Bagadi Jaganndham stated that the government has collected details of 218 persons across the district, who returned from abroad to their hometowns from various countries to test corona symptoms.

He said that the health administration was taking all necessary measures to tackle the disease.
