Srikakulam: Golden garland for Sun God temple soon
Srikakulam: A large sized golden garland will be ready soon for the temple shrine of Sun God temple in Arasavalli, said its executive officer (EO) and committee members at a press conference on temple premises here on Saturday. Shankara Sharma, who is also principal priest at the Sun God temple, Peddina Kalidas, Manadavilli Ravi, Patnana Srinivas alias Neel Kamal Srinu, briefed the donations details as Rs 68,20,293 lakh and another Rs 25 lakh is required to complete the large size garland.
The golden garland would be decorated to the temple shrine by March-end. After publishing the news story in this paper, District Collector J Nivas and endowment higher officials sought explanation from temple EO and legal sanctity of the committee. The EO explained that they did not get permission from the higher officials of the endowment department to prepare the golden garland.
He also said that if permission sought from the department it will take more than three years duration and to avoid it and to complete it on quick pace, they have taken the decision to collect donations.
But the EO was unable to explain the legal sanctity of the committee. The EO and committee members had concealed the details all these days and after publishing the news story in this paper they explained it by obeying higher officials' directions.
