Srikakulam: Officials directed to complete dyke works across Nagavali at a fast pace

Srikakulam: District Collector J Nivas on Wednesday directed the Municipal Corporation officials to complete the Nagavali river dyke works at fast pace.

He was inspecting dyke works on Wednesday along with officials. He expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in carrying out works. Dyke was proposed to be constructed across the Nagavali River to store water. The aim of the dyke is to provide sufficient drinking water to the residents in Srikakulam city.

It is aimed at making it a tourist centre.

The Collector asked Irrigation Department officials to store at least one-meter depth of water in the river after completion of dyke works. SMC engineering wing, Irrigation and other department officials accompanied the Collector.
